Recently, I purchased a new pair of running shoes from New Balance. The New Balance Minimus Zeros to be exact. I love running in them. I feel like I am flying. They give me more support than the New Balance 5000, and they seem more durable. Time will tell regarding durability.
Why the change? I have been running in New Balance 5000’s for about 3 years now and I love how light and comfortable they are but I feel like I can only run about 20 miles or so before they ware out. With my last pair, I ran a 10K (6.2 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles) and the Turkey Trot (10 miles) and by then, my shoes were shot. It was definitely time for a new pair.
It took me forever to decide on which pair and how to make the switch but a friend of mine ran in these shoes before, and she always gave me great advice on running shoes. Another great feature about the shoe is that it is breathable and light weighing only 4.4 oz. So far I have ran around Ala Moana, around Diamond Head and Paradise Park in Manoa.
I have read many other review ranging claiming it is the best shoe ever to dont waste your money. I weighed the pros and cons, and in the end I stuck with my gut, loving these shoes more than the 5000s. Wish me luck! I am very excited about the running in the Minimus Zeros and the adventures we will have in 2014!
